Snowboarding in Cyprus

We just had a cold spell, here in Cyprus.
During that 'cold spell' plenty of snow fell on the mountains.
We were excited by this and decided to take a trip up to the mountains.
In regards to this, I would just advise anyone with the same excitement to have chains and/or 4wd.

Otherwise you will get stranded in the snow and/or the car will skid and you will freak out. But lets not focus on that aspect of our trip :p

I was pretty pissed off when I got to the mountains and realised that I'd forgotten my camera so had to use my camera phone which isn't fantastic. However, having uploaded and looked at the pictures I have decided they are share- worthy.

In regards to snowboarding: I have tried snowboarding once before on a dry slope. I can't say I loved the experience but it wasn't bad. I just wasn't as good as I hoped. ha! This was my first snowboarding experience on real snow. We didn't use a ski lift so being strapped into the snowboard made it pretty hard to move. Once I was on a mini hill and strapped in and up and moving, it was fun! The strapping in and out of the board I found to be a bit of a bitch. Skateboarding is a lot simpler. I would also advise having snow-proof gloves as the no gloves 'I am a dumbass' option will mean your hands will freeze. Hand- freezing is not as fun as you might imagine. I have included some poser pictures of myself but just embrace :)

Social Media Ramblings

Well, since my last post of the pictures of my beloved dog <3 I thought its about time I write a new blog. Having said that, my blog seriously needs a theme/direction. I do have some in mind but not one I feel I have enough substance on at the moment. And so my ramblings and photos shall just be what they are!

And here I begin talking about social media:

There is a ridiculous amount of social media options floating about and it can be very addictive- yet not necessarily that meaningful. Its more of a quick fix than anything.

I do have a Facebook and I've had it for quite a few years. I do, on average, check it daily and find that with many friends abroad its quite useful for keeping in touch. I also like the fact that I can share pictures and vice versa. I rarely update my status but I do occasionally 'like' or 'comment' on something that stands out to me. Obviously our newsfeeds can often be inundated with a lot of (what we can regard as) disposable crap and also it can be hard to control what newsfeed does show us. Having said that, a Facebook break is definitely a good thing and when I'm busy with other things I'm happy to abstain.

I've noticed a lot of people are making Instagrams nowadays and I have browsed through pictures on there. It definitely looks like something I could get into as I do love me some photographs and all those filters really do make average things look slightly more dazzling.
However I feel like I already spend enough time on facebook and one social media thing is enough. Obviously theres also tumblr and twitter and the list does go on. Even having a blog AND facebook is making me think 'is there a point in having both?'. Its similar but with the blog I can just ramble on for ages - to your reading pleasure :D

I do remember how years ago I had a myspace and when people went over to Facebook I stuck to Myspace for a while. However I eventually got into Facebook and have no idea what happened to my Myspace. I don't think it exists anymore. The same thing could happen with Facebook but it seems to have more lastibility. I've had it for a lot more years than I had Myspace.

Anyway my general opinion is that though social media is a part of a lot of peoples everyday life - its important to disconnect.  Its important to spend more time off the screens. There was a good quote I read about this topic yesterday but the newspaper is in another place to where I am right now so I'll probably share it with you in my next post or edit this one :)

Fluffy Post

This is Pandy, she is a 15 year old mutt :) Her mama was a Springer Spaniel and it is assumed that her dad was a Pointer or a Pointer mix or not a Pointer at all. Pandy came into my life when I was ten years old and I am now 25. She lost one of her eyes to cancer about two years ago and she became deaf quite recently but she is still super happy! She goes for many walks and has plenty of energy for a fifteen year old dog. I used to volunteer at the local dog shelter and thats where we got her from. Shelter dogs all the way! so much <3

Blog of Whatever

Hello fellow human users of the internet

It is Sunday today.
I'm not sure how I feel about Sunday.
I did however sleep in for far too many hours and wake up the latest I have in the past four months *oops*

Since my blog is pretty whatever- I thought it would be appropriate to link you to this song!
DOES ANYONE REMEMBER THIS SONG?
so feel good-
My first attempt at linking a video (in the hope that it won't just be the link but the actual video displayed):

Another thing I'm posting is this masterpiece :P It is actually on/for wrapping paper and when I first was painting it I thought it wasn't that great but now I kinda liked it - so someones present shall be wrapped in this :) Its based on an idea in the Usborne Book of Christmas Art Ideas! x

Wednesday, 3 December 2014

Okay this whole blog thing is very new to me so I assume the first couple of posts will be quite bad. Also need to work out on layout and all that. I have a long way to go (basically). I'm using this blogging video on youtube to get the handle on things a bit more- I thought I could link it but I don't know how (this is how clueless I am).

Anyway HELLO!

My name is Dominique and I'm 25 years old.

I currently have 0 views on my blog so writing this with an audience in mind is quite ridiculous.

I think I'll be posting photography and music stuff mostly but maybe a recipe here and there, stuff I like, pieces of writing- ah, sounds focused already :p

At the moment, I've got a job up until Christmas and then the future is this giant question mark that keeps staring me in the face.

To those that have lingered in this lost phase of life you will know what I mean when i say that the most annoying question that you can be asked is 'What are you going to do now?' I mean I know I ask that to people but don't realize how stressful a question it can be-

Perhaps you can come with me on this journey to discovery.
Yes, all you 0 followers- on this great journey !
Wow I'm sounding immensely cheesy.

So that concludes my first entry.

Top Stuff. Top Stuff.
